Abstract

Collagen refers to a family of proteins that are the primary structural components of connective tissues. The use of collagen as a barrier for regeneration of bone and soft tissue is now a regular event in regeneration of different tissue architectures. This discussion will focus on a concise review of the generic products, expectations and use. The clinician will know, at the end of this presentation, the factors influencing outcomes where collagen barriers are used to influence bone and tissue regeneration. Expansion of the implant platform will be emphasized through collagen regeneration techniques.
