Abstract
Various types of resorbable and non-resorbable membranes are used in oral regenerative procedures, but the selection of membrane should be based on the specific clinical situation. Defect location, size and shape are all relevant as well as patient specific factors. In this webinar, we will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of different membrane types and discuss recent advances that may improve regenerative outcomes.
Learning Objectives
1) Review the advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of membranes used in oral surgery
2) Discuss the biological qualities of resorbable and non-resorbable membranes
3) Understand the clinical scenarios when one type of membrane may be favored over another
