Annika Johnson, DDS

Annika Johnson is currently a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota, where she also completed her dental education. Her research spans from her early years in dental school to her current residency, focusing on odontogenic infection protocols, splatter distribution in third molar extractions, and local anesthesia training in a COVID virtual model. Annika has published work on temporary paresthesia of the auriculotemporal nerve and presented at conferences like the IAOMS Next Gen Conference and the AAOMS Annual Session. Her dedication has earned her multiple awards, including the IAOMS/ALACIBU NextGen Online Conference Recognition of Excellence and University of Minnesota Academic Excellence Awards. Her passions within the field of OMFS lie within trauma and reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, and complex dento-alveolar cases. Outside of the field she enjoys fitness classes, run clubs, travel, and exploring cookbooks.
