Gabriel Hayek was born and raised in Rhode Island. He attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut before completing his dental education at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. During this time, he won the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology national essay contest and was awarded the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology dental student award. After dental school, Gabe returned to the Hartford community, where he matched to the University of Connecticut Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program and completed his medical degree. He was in his fifth year of training when he participated in the Clinical Observership Program. Throughout residency he has written numerous book chapters and been involved in multiple clinical research projects. His clinical interests include tissue engineering, benign pathology, orthognathic surgery, and cleft-craniofacial surgery. He is thrilled to have been chosen as part of the Osteo Science Foundation Clinical Observership program.
