Shouvik Ponnusamy, DMD grew up in the Chicago metropolitan area, and attended the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry where he served as President of the Chicago Dental Society Academic Chapter and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. Upon earning his DMD degree, he matched into to the University of Illinois Chicago Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program, where he served as Chief Resident. He was especially enthusiastic to participate in the Clinical Observership Program because of his interest in complex hard and soft tissue grafting, full arch implant reconstruction, and custom in-office 3D printing.
