The field of facial cosmetic surgery has constantly evolved over the last 50 years. Historically, attempts to improve or rejuvenate facial appearance had relied primarily on surgical techniques for the shape and contour of the face, and aggressive chemical peels or dermabrasion to improve the appearance of the skin. Over the last 25 years, the appearance of an array of neurotoxins, facial fillers, bioactive compounds, and medical devices have changed the game of facial cosmetics. While surgical techniques have little changed and are still the mainstay of dramatic facial rejuvenation/improvement, these newer technologies have allowed faster recovery, more natural appearance, and long-term maintenance of results. This talk will review newer technologies used in the field of facial cosmetics with an emphasis on those that utilize regenerative approaches.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the presentation the listener will be aware of regenerative technologies used in facial cosmetic surgery
The listener will understand the indications and contraindications for use of regenerative cosmetic technologies
The listener will have a foundation for adding regenerative cosmetic technologies where appropriate in their practice
